Fresh Grilled Chicken Breasts on the BarbecueGrilled Chicken Breasts

  • 3 chicken breast halves
  • lemon pepper
  • garlic powder
  • meat tenderizer

Charcoal Grill – open all vents, build a fire with stacking 12-15 chunks in the center of the grill. Let the flames die down to about one inch above the grid (10 -15 min.). Do not remove the lid unnecessary while cooking.

Gas Grill – soak 2 cups chips in warm water for 30 minutes. Preheat grill on high for 10 minutes. Turn burner down to manuals recommended temperature. Place chips in smoker tray or foil pack as close to the heat source as possible without touching the flame or the ports.

Rinse chicken breasts throughly under running cold water; pat dry with paper towels. Sprinkle both sides of the breasts with lemon pepper, garlic powder and meat tenderizer; rub it in. Place chicken on the outer edge of the grill bone side down, cover lid and cook 20 minutes. Turn chicken meat side down cover grill and cook 10 minutes. Turn once more cover grill and cook 15 minutes. Total cooking time 45 to 50 minutes If desired skin can be removed after cooking is complete.

  • 2 rib-eye steaks (1-1.5″ thick)
  • garlic powder
  • lemon pepper
  • meat tenderizer

Gas Grill – soak two cups chips in warm water for 30 minutes. Preheat grill on high for 10 minutes. Turn heat down to recommended setting, indicated in the manual. Place chips in smoker tray or foil pack as close to the heat source as possible without touching the flame or the ports.

Sprinkle the steaks with lemon pepper, garlic powder and meat tenderizer on both sides and rub in. Sear steaks one minute on each side directly over the fire (with the lid off or open). Move steaks toward outside edge of cooking grill. Place lid on grill and cook two minutes on each side for medium doneness.
